.NET is a new framework for developing web-based and windows-based applications within the microsoft environment. It includes a large class library named Framework Class Library (FCL) and provides language interoperability (each language can use code written in other languages) across several programming languages. .NET mainly consist of four major components i.e. Common Language Specification (CLS), Framework Class Library (FCL), Common Language Runtime (CLR), .NET Tools. Currently .NET supports C#, VB.NET, C++ and J# languages.
